Jay’s interest in real estate was sparked in the late 1980s when his father made a $25,000 down payment on a property in Aspen, Colorado. The rapid increase in property values and the frequent discussions around this success left a lasting impression, although it did not initially steer his career toward real estate.
In 2000, Jay began his professional career in the consulting industry, specializing in business valuation and advising companies on operational improvements, securing funding, and preparing for business sales. He continues to leverage this deep business expertise to benefit his own ventures, as well as to advise clients, family, and friends of john greene Real Estate.
Jay transitioned into real estate in 2004 as a traditional residential broker but soon realized that his true passion lay in real estate investment. After purchasing investment properties and learning valuable lessons through experience, he discovered that his strengths were in identifying and capitalizing on investment opportunities. Balancing a growing family with three children under the age of three led him to seek a more flexible career path, and he ultimately shifted his focus to real estate investing.
Throughout his career, Jay has consistently found value across a wide range of asset classes. He is particularly adept at addressing urgent cash needs for estates or distressed properties and has extensive experience working with properties affected by fire damage, water damage, mold, structural issues, and foundation concerns. His approach is grounded in fiscal discipline and a patient, long-term investment strategy.
Jay has successfully flipped over 300 homes and his real estate portfolio includes a diverse mix of asset classes, including retail, mixed-use, industrial, multi-family, single-family rentals, condominiums, townhomes, as well as residential, commercial, and industrial land.
